Start with one M5 and add a dose of Supersprint magnum rear mufflers and X pipe (eliminates the stock resonators)

Out with the old:

(That thing was damn heavy, definitely a 2 person job)

The new:

and finished:

Install went very smooth, parts fit well and the stock exhaust was easy to remove due to a cat replacement already done on the car. This resulted in the dealer using a coupler with clamps from the cats to the back section instead of welding (no cutting on my part necessary).

And last, but not least, I want to thanks TKO in Auburn ( www.tkomotorwerks.com ) for the great price on the Supersprint and even better service :)

I'll bet it sounds sexy now! I loved the Xpipe I put on my Mustang--how does this one sound? Any clips?

Fantastic color! Yes, E39 M5 exhausts are complete pigs. I helped Brian install some Dinan mufflers on his a while back. But, once you fire the car up it's all worth it! One local guy that tracks his M5 has the full headers back (with metallic cats) SS set up. It's just pissed off sounding and I love it.

Exhaust? Eh, maybe. I'd love to but not sure I want to spend the money that any halfway decent one is worth. Plus, I really have no interest in this car becoming loud. A nice tone is always a plus, but I sure enjoy this car being so quiet. If it was a V8... it'd be a different story!

Pretty sure there is no such thing as a "DOT" 4-point or any other configuration of harness. Yes we can help out with all of those.

Stang... you mean a Schroth or some other brand of 4 point harnesses?

Schroth Rallye 3 and 4s (3 and 4 point belts), Quickfits, and Autocontrols are DOT approved. http://www.schrothracing.com/products/streetlegal

Cramer,

Thanks for stopping by the shop Saturday. The SS looks perfect on your M5 and the sound is just amazing. Can't wait to install mine. Maybe I'll have time this week.
