I had mentioned it in another thread, but I thought it might be of interest to a few people that the new 335xi and the rest of the 3 series produced starting in march will include 6 programmable buttons for the idrive/nav system. This is not relevant to cars without nav.
as for the wheels...the sport package will come with 17" type 158 7 spoke wheels, sport steering wheel and seats. optional 18" 7spoke wheels will be available as an upgrade... perf. runflats only.
active steering is not available on the 335xi.... nor are the paddle shifters.
sonora will be gone, replaced by platinum bronze (the 'vert launch color)
barrique is replaced with barbera red (the same as the 6 series)
atlantic blue will also be available from the 'vert color pallet.
the ipod/usb adapter will be available as an option now... not just as an accessory so you should save some $ by avoiding install charges.
oh... and headlight washers are now standard on all 335xi models... no longer included in cold weather pack.
hope that info helps some of you people on the fence...

Very helpful info. The Barbera Red is real interesting. I don't love the 159 wheels, but I really want all seasons. I'll be ordering in the next 6 months. Likely 6sp manual/premium/sport/18's/cold weather/comfort access/Logic7/Sirius - maybe Barbera with either beige or gray leather. When you say the headlight washers will "no longer be included with the cold weather pack" does that mean they'll be absent if that option is ordered? Or will ALL 335xi's have them?
Should be fun!!

yeah... they will be standard on all of them. not really too much of a surprise since they did that with the 328xi coupe and sedan already.
Barbera red yummmy... I hated barrique red. Looks like cheap housing red bricks.
Are those for the E90 only or all 3 series (I am interested in the E92 coupe)??

right now it's certainly for the 335xi. it may also be for the rest of the 3 series but it's hard to say. the color changes at this point can only be confirmed for the upcoming convertible and 335xi. it wouldn't be the first time BMW changed colors mid-model-year too... and sonora and barrique just don't sell... personally I find sonora to be the worst... barrique actually looks really good when clean and in the right light.

I'm just going to make an addition... and I think you'll like it. I just tried to use my locator and none of the 3 series models have barrique or sonora and all have atlantic blue, platinum bronze and barbara red. so yeah... it may not be official, but they already changed it in the locator :)

Do you know if performance tires on 17" wheels will be available for the 335xi? The 18" are pretty, but also pretty rough on New Hampshire roads. We generally need full winter performance tires (eg Pilot Alpins) up here. No experience with run-flats; are they much rougher than regular high performance summer tires?

the tires that come on the 17" wheels will be all-season tires. the only performance tires will be on the 18's. you could try asking your CA if they can change them... but that will be at their discretion. I know we have them because they come on the 328i with sport... but whether they can just switch them is up to them.

those are the sedan wheels... since you said 335xi we won't worry about coupe since that will be sept. until it is made.
as for the sport steering wheel...
here is the standard wheel...
