Just wondering if theres any specific/safe method of popping off the ski hole cover. Ima aim my 12 in type R right through the hole and see what happenz. I was thinkin about just knockin the damn thing out.. but i dont wanna break somethin so is there an easier way to do this?

Hammer and a metal rod is how I did it. Your just gonna have to cut a hole in the carpet.

edit: I have an e36.. not sure if e34s are the same.

i removed the carpet/ sound proofing stuff behind it so i shouldnt have to cut anything. Sounds simple.. i guess ill make sure there are not any screws b4 i start hammering tho since we got diff cars

all you need is one bfh and somethin to pound with it.. If i remember correctly i used a drift pin.... Nothing to really damage back there.. I mean yeah theres a gaping hole into the trunk, but in mine theres a leather flap to cover it when the arm rest is not up.

That might be required in some bimmers, but I got lucky with the E34 because the hole was already perforated, i guess...:D

Once you take the top portion of the back seat out, you'll be able to access the four bolts that fasten the pass-thru enclosure to the vehicle. You'll also be able to access the tabs that secure the 8" square to this pass thru and take it out without a scratch to be made. I made a box for my convertible that fit the pass-thru like OJ's glove and I cut a hole to the left of it and vented the box up and out thru the vent. It turned out sweeter than I could ever have imagined.

I just punched it out with my bare fist....you don't have to hit hard.....you just have to hit it in the right spot. aim for the few areas where there is an actual connection, you may have to look carefully.
