Hey I'm having a bitch of a time taking unbolting the the mounts off the struts.

They probably have lock-tight on them. Such a biatch to get off. Just use some elbow grease.

I used all the elbow grease I have, I should have unbolted the mounts when they were on the car. When I try to break it loss, the strut shaft will spin with it.

an impact gun will take it right off. ps they are spring loaded so use a spring compressor.

Tried an Impact gun, still nothing. It doesn't even buldge.

Might need to put some heat on the bolt/nut. Then try with the impact.

Not familiar with these particular shocks, but the top of the strut probably has a hex hole. You'll need an hex wrench and a combination wrench. Place the combo wrench on the nut, and then insert the hex wrench into the hex hole. Use the hex wrench to hold the shaft of the strut in place while you use the combination wrench to undo the bolt.

Uhhh.... You should not use impact tools on the front struts to remove/install the strut hat. You'll more than likely just spin the shaft of the strut, but you could possibly damage the threads on the strut. Heat probably won't do much good, since you'll be heating both nut and strut... Not sure which will expand first, but anyway...

Hope that helps...

Hey thanks for all the useful info guys, I ended up using my friends heavy duty snap-on impact gun. Took it off no probs, I broke it loose right away then I just eased off the trigger and slowly backed it out because I didn't want the spring to suddenly unload on me and break my leg.
I'm sure the overnight WD soak helped.

Struts apart and my legs intact. So mission complete.

Oh and it's SOLD!!!
