After weeks on reading in the BIMMERFORUM,I had finally ordered for a montego blue 328 xi sedan with black/alum trim.Its fully loaded except for the sports package .Is there anyway I can just get the 17 all season wheel part of the sports package? Is sports package worth on a xi sedan compared to a i sedan or coupe ? Expert advice needed before the CA put in the production order today.

from what I have read in previous postes here and on E90 the sports pckg in the X is useless. The reason to get the X is for bad weather, (snow) driving. sport tires on the sports package would negate any benifit you would have with AWD, from what I hear it is better to get RWD and a good pair of dedicated 17" snow tires and wheels

Instead of a pair, I think a set would be preferred.

It does allow you to get the sport seats, different rims, raises the speed governor (155MPH) and different steering wheel.

It does not lower the car, unlike the non x-drive models. TO me, the seats alone are worth the upgrade.

I have the Sport package, it does not negate the Xi package for it does not offer the sport suspension. It only provides sport seats, sport steering wheel, and 17 inch All Season tires.

As was mentioned the sport seats are worth the extra price alone, they are extremely comfortable and supportive. The sport steering wheel adds a chrome accent which is a nice look. Another reason to get it is for the 17 inch tires, they add much more grip, which helps reduce oversteer with the xi models. So in summary the sport package actually enhances the xi package

Correction in my previous post above , I meant to say it the larger tires help with understeer, that has been noted on some professional tests, such as from Car and Driver

I also think it enhaces the xi package. I like the bigger rims and tires.

the sport package on the xi is also only a $1200 option (instead of 1600). The 17" wheels and seats are absolutely worth it... especially considering that over the term of your lease or finance it's only 20-35 dollars a month... your backside will thank you for spending a few extra $. not to mention it makes it a more desireable car if you ever go to sell it privately at a later date.

I can always depend on all u guys in here ( Sorry ladies , may be a few in here) for all the expert advice .I am convinced sport package is worth on the Xi's and I added it to my order .But the wait is going to be long one .It will be april when I get to ride my sexy montego blue baby.Thanks again

I got the 328xi with Sport Package - worth it for the sports seats and beefier steering wheel IMO.

You can order the wheels separate from the car...then you have 2 sets of wheels. The only way to ge them on the car is to order the sports package. In the sports package...you also get some great seats. They are a must..

I'd rather have the sports package...than the premium package.
