Ive had mine a year, HUGE trunk, great safety ratings, good gas mileage, lots of room.... Has been in the shop for minor things more than any other vehicle ive owned. 2 weeks after I bought it, it was in for electrical problems. tiny rubber mudflaps fell off(dealer charged to replace), windshield wipers broke first snowfall(covered under warranty with a "warning"), now the AC/ heater fan only works in full blast(going back into the shop tommorrow). long story short... its getting replaced by an X3 after the summer passes.

car is an 06' 2.5 package 1, with 10k on it.

Had an '06 TDI. I was hit in my driver's side door while stopped at a traffic light by a Volvo S80 travelling 40mph. My car bent in half and I didn't get a scratch. The cell phone I was holding exploded. My new Honda Civic sucks.

They are nice, but sorta slow for automatic ones. Thes manuals arent bad. I was going to get a wolfburg edition for 20k then I found CPO 06 passat 2.0t manual with 20k with warranty till 2012/74k miles for 21.5k. Really nice car. It depends on what u can spend. I would say check them out though.

I bought used 2005.5 TDI for $19.5. Has annoying elec. ground problem that I haven't fixed yet, but otherwise has been a great commuter car. I've heard the 2.5 has too HP for perf. and too big for good MPG.

But then again, I bought it to get 50MPG and will dump it when BMW brings their diesel to the US.

Have you looked on vwvortex.com? That's the equivilant to bf.c.

rented one from Enterpise loved it...it was what it was, great gas mileage and good power, great stereo. Have no idea what it costs, therefore can make no judgements

PS>backseat only big enough for two kids, not three, unless they are all about 30 pounds
