I recently purchased an alpine CDA-9847 headunit and alpine KCA-420i ipod adapter. im curious if there is anyone in the greater san diego area who knows how to install these in an e36 m3 and can help me with the work. i am more than happy to pay you for your time and help, let me know if you are interested. thank you.

i've never done that specific headunit install, but I can probably figure it out. if you're just looking for someone to help out that has done some wiring before, i wouldn't mind helping out. by no means am I a professional installer though...

If you want help and I can fit it in. I would be happy to. I have cleaned mine recently. Helping out a fellow BF.C member is what this whole forum is about.

i'd be happy to help out with whatever i can help out with too... i'm not that familiar with the M52TU motor, but I'm sure we can figure it out. You do have the E46 Bentley manual right? Bring it over... we'll work it out together...

that would be great. its most likely a fairly straight forward install and the ipod adapter is all plug n play. im just not familiar with h/u installs so if you could help me that would be great. ill come down there too since its not too far. let me know when you have time, thanks :)

Nice.... almost like a hidden message here....
speaking of tools.. i think that is one thing that a "community" of helpful bimmerphiles could help each other with. for certain tasks, i find myself hunting for the right tools for a week or two before I have everything i need to do the job. and i enjoy having the correct tools for the job.. just makes it more pleasant. (i've done it plenty of times the other way... getting too old for that shit)
i'm always happy to help out other bimmer folks with the tools i have (Peake scanner, spring compressor, water pump holder/wrench, etc.)
