anyone in the wilmington/raleigh/myrtle beach area that can help me with my m50 mani install? got the manifold and eric's (E36M3E) kit. Read through the instructions and looks like its gonna be more than i'm comfortable handling. i would prefer someone that has already done the install atleast once so they know what they are doing. ;) I can help as long as you tell me what to do. Let me know and we'll try to figure out some times/dates. Thanks fellas!
nobody? okay, who is the closest that can/willing to help?

i'm in the Raleigh area. Not sure when I'll be in the wilmington area any time in the future though. What are you stuck on? You also might want to check out www.nceuro.org for local people.
did you ask carl?
yeah he helped me with my suspension install, so he was the first person i asked. but he'll be busy with his coupe, so he won't have time. its okay though, i got my girlfriends brother to help me and he has a friend that is a mechanic. so i'm good. just gotta wait till spring break, march 3-12 to install it:redspot
damn, why so long?
only time we could all get together to do it. and it helps not having any school work to do all week:buttrock that and its my gf's bday, so i'll be going up there anway:D

I could talk you through it over the phone. Once you have done it a time or two or ten you can get the manifold off in less than an hour. The most time consuming thing are the two bolts that secure the manifold to the supports. Off is no problem but getting everything lined up again is a pain. If the manifold has ever been off before even money you will only have one bolt on the front support. A nice tool to have when doing this is a long flexible bolt picker upper thingie. You know one of those things that has four little fingers that come out the bottom when you squeeze the handle at the top. It is very helpful when you want to start the nuts that hold the manifold on. If the milage is up there I would also replace the knock sensors, the octopus water hose, the hoses around the heater valve, check the rubber fuel lines, look at the intake elbow as you remove it for dry rot down in the cracks, amd the connectors for the crank and cam sensor are right there so think about them as well. But if you have small hands those are doable w/o removing the manifold. If your crank sensor is on the back side of the motor(later cars) I would do it with the manifold off for sure.

inspection 2 is not a rip off. maybe at the bmw dealership, but anything is there.
inspection 2 is designed so you do it before it breaks and your bmw lasts you 500,000 miles like they are all capable of
