I'm looking for a paint hookup on my 1994 325is. The lowest offer I have had is $350. That still seems high to me. Can anybody recommend a place to get the side skirts and lower bumpers painted to match my car?

View Full Version : Who has had their side skirts/lower bumpers painted to match? JohnnyWash1 02-01-2007, 05:34 PM I'm looking for a paint hookup on my 1994 325is. Let me know, Christian JohnnyWash1 02-01-2007, 06:11 PM Everything is on the car. I need the gray areas painted: http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f60/johnnywash1/1097265_2.jpg ElSupremo 02-01-2007, 07:15 PM $350 is actually a pretty reasonable price. You could do it yourself by getting paint from Tower Paint. Several people have done that before, and it looks decent. JohnnyWash1 02-01-2007, 07:54 PM I don't trust myself with a job like this. I'd rather pay somebody. cbouchez 02-02-2007, 04:36 PM Why don't you get some M3 sideskirts? It will look better. JohnnyWash1 02-02-2007, 04:45 PM That would cost more. mitchelrl 02-02-2007, 06:08 PM 350 is a good price. But it's hard to match old paint. You get what you pay for with paint work. cbouchez 02-02-2007, 06:37 PM That would cost more. True but it would be easier to paint with the parts off the car. JohnnyWash1 02-02-2007, 06:43 PM Damn, I guess I'll have to save up for this. cbouchez 02-02-2007, 06:55 PM check the group purchases. turbodefrost 02-02-2007, 08:45 PM Damn, I guess I'll have to save up for this. i may know a couple places you could get this done for pretty cheap, probly wouldn't be as good of quality as some places but a buddy of mine has a paint gun, or i know of another place out toward lynden that should be pretty cheap JohnnyWash1 02-03-2007, 12:22 AM i may know a couple places you could get this done for pretty cheap, probly wouldn't be as good of quality as some places but a buddy of mine has a paint gun, or i know of another place out toward lynden that should be pretty cheap Price please? My Blue 95 325is has places where the grey has come off and the blue shows through. I read that you can use some sort of Castrol brand cleaner and a shoe brush and scrub off the grey on one side in about 2 hours of work. So, 4 hours could save you from having to paint the sides... which might drop that $350 figure, and your paint would be original on the sides still. The instructions I read did say you would want to spray the newly exposed paint with some sort clear coat... Since my grey paint on the sides sucks, I was thinking of having them painted black, and having the lower parts of the bumper painted black, so I wouldn't have to worry about color matching to the blue, and it would match all of the black around the car. cbouchez 02-03-2007, 05:33 PM ask for me also Christan i need the front, sides, rear, and grills:buttrock I will man. I'll try to get a hold of hims this weekend otherwise I'll stop at his shop on Monday. JohnnyWash1 02-03-2007, 06:16 PM There is red paint under the grey paint on the sides of your car.
