In a moment of weakness this is up for sale. I have not been able to find a suitable shell in my area.
This is a turbo charged E28 motor. It is sitting on an E28 subframe with M6 motor mounts and was pulled “complete” with all sensors, harness, ECU, excreta. It was rebuilt and run for a few miles then pulled to find a good donor body. The details are listed below. This is as “drop-in” as one would want. I tried to take a photo of inside the oil cap but it didn’t come out. You could eat off the valve train. The turbo kit has about 5k miles on it. The motor still needs to be broken-in.
Location: SE PA
Price: $3850
Engine:
Rebuilt M30b34 -
8:1 compression
all new sensors
coated valves and pistons
Metric mechanic headgasket
Raceware studs
Chromed valve cover
Non-intercooled Cartech turbo kit:
Turbo – water and oil cooled
Piping
FMU
Wastegate
BOV
M30b35 wiring harness – 60-2 sensor on crank pulley
M30b35 ECU
Lightweight aluminum flywheel
Multi disc performance clutch clutch
Additional items:
All new sensors
New alternator
Bimmerworld wires
High flow water pump
Adapter for remote oil cooler
M6 engine mounts
Painted E28 subframe
If I were to find a shell before installing the motor I would:
-by a downpipe from TCD to route the wastegate into the exhaust
-hard pipe the plumbing from the valve cover to the turbo inlet
-dump the b35 ECU for Megasquirt
