View Full Version : Anyone have Borbet Type E's?
justinp95 01-31-2007, 01:38 PM I found a set of 17x8 Borbet Type E wheels for cheap locally. Im just wondering if anyone has a pic of them on a car. I think they would look much better if the middle was painted black with the chrome lip.....

Dark Helmet 01-31-2007, 03:08 PM on an E34... I'd skip it.
they look sharp on an E28 though.
Dark Helmet 01-31-2007, 03:08 PM also, silver center and polish the poo out of the lip.
justinp95 02-01-2007, 10:40 PM Anyone else?
skateparks 02-01-2007, 10:53 PM I have them on my e39. No pics, sorry.
justinp95 02-01-2007, 11:10 PM You like em? What do they cost new? I found some local for only $400 with tires....
miroxz 02-01-2007, 11:20 PM i would also pass on e34's.....makes it look kinda domestic.(pontiacish)
Spokes are a little on the round side which contrasts with the shaper lines of the E34. However, for that price, if the tires are brand name and in good shape...why not? You're getting the rims for free.
540i6Mike 02-02-2007, 02:37 AM My buddy has them on his A4. Stylish, classic, generic. Do it if its a deal you can't pass up, they should look okay/good. Otherwise go for somthing more E34 classy! If he shows up for work with it tomorrow, I'll snap a pic.
skateparks 02-02-2007, 08:17 AM I love them. I took off 18" BBS and went to 17" winters and the car became MUCH more lively. It's made me go back to 17's on my e34's and sell the 18's. I didn't weight them but they seem fairly light and the finish is just right for me, not chrome but just a little sheen.
And I paid $650 for mine with snows so $400 seems pretty darn cheap.
5mall5nail5 02-02-2007, 10:28 AM I used to have them they look great on an E34.
justinp95 02-02-2007, 10:46 AM I will admit they do look plain, but i would spice it up by painting the center black.
Craig S 02-02-2007, 11:41 AM Here they are on my previous E34. I like the fact you can reach through the spokes and clean the inside of the wheel. It really makes the car look a lot better when the whole wheel is clean.
They are pretty cheap new, something like $150/wheel so I wouldn't pay too much for them.

justinp95 02-02-2007, 11:49 AM Do you have a side view? What kind of drop is that? And i thought i saw them somewhere for like $250+ each. I guess the price was just jacked up.
Craig S 02-02-2007, 11:55 AM I looked but couldn't find any, sorry. I know I have some around, maybe at home.
I paid $300 for a set of 4 perfect used ones (pictured), no tires. I think Tire Rack sells them, check their site and see what they want for them (17x8).
