Im curious what all has to be changed when puting an M3 engine in a 325?

nothing is what i've heard, but it is recommended to upgrade to the zf transmission

what year are we talking about here?

S50 or S52 motor. ZF tranny is optional along with driveshaft and LSD diff. On the S52 motor you must do Temp sensor mod when put into an OBd1 car(325).

Temp sensor mod, plus coolant pipe adapter plus dip stick plus valve cover.....

i am not shure but on the s52 you have to move the motor mound on the 325 over about an 1/8 of an inch on the drivers side

If you get an OBD1 m3 motor and an obd1 325, then all you have to swap it the longblock and ECU? I'm thinking about getting a 325 with a blown motor, then do the swap and suspension. It's hard to find an M3 that is up to par in my price range. :)

Done several conversions 318-s50....318-s52 obd1.......325-s50~(The easiest by far).......e30-s52obd1......I may be a bit getting back to you but I will for sure.I get too many PMs to answer all in a sitting. Just finished a 325-s52 yesturday with a Dinan Powerdyne S/C....what a beast.

Diff,Driveshaft,Tranny, if it is to a OBD I 3.2 then you would want to keep the M50 Manifold. Also make sure the engine will accept the 413 DME or whatever your current car's DME has. Dont forget the coolant pipe that you need from active autowerks. there is quite a bit to make sure that you get right. search using my username, I wrote a "writeup" for most of my issues called "OBD I swap this weekend, had issues" or something very close to that.

I dont think sort of swap can be done. I mean, thats ridiculous.

Is it possible to fit the s54 into a e30 body and if so what would have to be modified besides the trans, ecu, harness, and motor mounts?
