View Full Version : Just found you guys BLOCK4 01-26-2007, 12:23 AM I need help with my 93 740il. When i get it up to 50mph or so it sounds like i have offroad tires on the car and it shakes it a little. Anybody have the same problem or know what it might be would be of great help to me. PaveIt 01-26-2007, 12:49 AM What brand tires do you have, do you know how many miles are on the tires?? Typically the offroad noise is either a broken belt, or the tires are cupped from misalignment from worn suspension/steering components and or tire pressure. Both would cause a slight vibration. Hope this helps! shogun 01-26-2007, 01:08 AM Yor car is an E32, so most of the suspension parts are same or equal to the E34 5 series. So read this http://www.bmwe34.net/e34main/trouble/what_will_break.htm But first of all, rebalance thw wheel/tire combo and then see if it improved. BLOCK4 01-26-2007, 08:45 PM Shogun, I will try the rebalance and thanks for the link. I work on my own stuff, (gift from a dad that raced everything under the sun), so the parts will be all i am out. Just wanted to pick your brains about this so i did not have to take weeks to find the problem. The tires are Michelins. Brand new when i bought the car, maybe 7000 miles on them at the most. Started to do this when it got cold, did not do it when i first bought the car. Thanks again and i will keep you guys informed. If you have anything else, let me know. |
