Hi Everyone,
First I have to say a special thanks to Jensenm3 for his postive feedback on his recent exhaust. After a few phone conversations Jensen pulled the trigger on a Rogue El Diablo to add to his Borla midpipe he had previously purchased from us. Today he called is was just raving about how good it sounds and how happy he is with this combo. SOOOOO, we had an El Diablo here from some testing that we have been doing with Sander Brouwers car (the Flyin' Dutchman) for an upcoming Roundel article.
I went to HP Autowerks in Santa Barbara (also participating in the Roundel article and a beautiful shop) and we put on the El Diablo. First of all the fitment is excellent, but the here's what I found.
1. Slightly louder than the Borla/Borla combo
2. Slightly deeper and throatier than the Borla muffler
3. The tips look great!!
My conclusion is the Borla/Borla combo is perfect for just about everyone that wants a system with no rasp and no drone at a moderate volume, but if you want a little more agressive sound without getting really loud, the Borla midpipe/El Diablo could be perfect for you.
Check out the pictures of the RE El Diablo on my car below.
