Casebrius, what part of Louisiana do you live? I live in New Iberia. But I go all over lafayette, Baton Rouge, New Orleans. There are a few places you can Auto-X around here if you live close.

I go to school in north Louisiana, but I'm from Alexandria. I was thinking about starting to do some of the Lone Star chapter autocrosses in the DFW, TX area. It's only 4 hours away from me, which is not much farther from me than New Orleans.

Where is there to autocross down there? CCA auto-xes or other?

Sup guys. Lafayette in the house. I'm not sure about where autocrosses are held, but i know my car would be slow at it. i wish more people would get involved in louisiana, we could have some really good meets. louisiana people shout out if youre reading this.

I've been to two auto-x's so far. One at No Problem Raceway (SCCA sponsored event) and one at the Houston Police Academy (Sponsored by the Houston chapter Porsche Club)

No Problem Raceway has a top notch all asphalt track.

Houston Police Academy is a concrete track that has seen a fair amount of hard use.

At the time I attended these auto-x events I was driving the V6 Accord. Suprisingly enough with suspension mods and wider tires I ran better times than the majority of the 3 and 5 series BMW drivers.

The one thing you will soon learn about Auto-x is that its probably 90% driver and 10% car.

I watched a man in a 1990-1992 Accord LX 5spd Sedan with ONLY 17" rims and tires (no suspension mods) beat my fastest lap time by a good 3-4 seconds. (Made me want to cry)

If you attend an event where you get to make 3-4 runs its very exciting when you shave time off of each run as you learn the track, and figure out how to better nagivate the turns and slaloms

Count me in guys. I'd like to setup up a BMW drivers school at No Problem Raceway through CCA. PCA does it all the time.

I made a thread about this already. I'll be at the trackday with a friend of mine with an E36 (louisianajobe on here). That would be awesome if a bunch of bimmer guys showed up.

I auto-x with Delta all the time. There is usually an E30 M3 there, as well as a new guy with an E36 and a supercharged M coupe every once and a while. I won't be out there this weekend, I have to go to a wedding, but I should be at the June event. I was also thinking of going to the CENLA night events in Zachary during the summer.

I miss auto-x so much. I have won a few trophies in my integra but I am def ready to try it in my bimmer. Only thing is, i am not used to driving rear wheel drive yet. FWD corrects itself in a turn so i need some more practice with controlling the ass end before I get out there and make a damn fool of myself....lol.
