well this was the first time i got around to wash the BBS rims i had purchased last month and i noticed that the rims all had different textures on them. as far as the face of the rims they were nicce an smooth, but some of the lips and the inner sections of the rims were rough. making some of the rims look shinier than the others, and the worst one look dull compared to the others. is this a common problem or did i get shafted?

bbs is known for quality products- i would contact the seller to see about exchanging the bad ones.

I always thought that BBS were known for their quality?:dunno I think I read an article once that states that each rim goes through numerous quality checks. As madhatter says, did you buy them new or from another person?

I recently experienced a similar problem. After curbing one of my CH rims, I purchased a replacement. The replacement rim was not as brilliant as the original 4 purchased a year ago. The rim was silver, but more gray. It was definately different. Especially since my wife noticed the difference in shade. Joe the VP of sales at BBS shipped another rim, but it was not any bettter. I shipped both back and kept the one with curb rash. Does anyone have any suggestions? TIA Marty

i bought them from another board member. i sent him an email and he said he got them used from aomeone else, so i don't know what to think. i't mainly just one rim that is a bit rough in areas and then one is real smooth. but all the numbers and markings on the rims do match.

It is probably not in the casting as they do use a high pressure counter casting. I may just be in the finish or the polishing of the wheel before the paint. They do make some of the highest quality wheels out there on the market. BMW has used them for years as an OE supplier.
