View Full Version : Dallas Papa's MEET 1/11/03 !
Aside from the less than spectacular weather, the meet turned out great! About 15 cars showed up total, most of which ended up being E36's.
A couple other vehicles came (modified DSM, Porsche 996 Cab) and it all seemed to work out great. I snapped off a few photos, but spent most of my time drooling over the cars.
Thanks to Will (pixl8) for the pic hosting ( :buttrock )

Also, for reference, I'm using an Olympus Camedia C-720 Ultra Zoom camera...sorry if i left out anyone's car!
Thanks again and great meeting everyone!

damn cool pics. Looks like i missed out on a lot of fun. :astromile
Is this Pappa's BBQ near "The Grand" movie theater, or Humperdinks? I just moved to the area, so please bear with me because I don't know where anything is, or which freeways are which. :95 :az:
Rahul325 01-12-2003, 08:44 PM yep, this is the Pappa's near Humperdinks on Northwest Highway. i missed the meet, had to work :( hopefully i can make it for the next meet.
later...
snk328is 01-12-2003, 09:05 PM Hey b0rf, I re-did my DDEs today. It turns out that some of the fibers got too close to the light source and melted. After I redid them, they were a lot brighter!
So anyway, I'll see for sure tomorrow if they show up in the daytime, but I have renewed faith in them. Although today was a little overcast, I could tell that they are definitely brighter now.
Jim is also working on a new light housing design for them, and he says they will be brighter, I'm looking forward to that.
Anyway, just thought I'd let you know.
DOH! I didn't get your car in any pics!
Interesting, did all four melt in the same place, or only the ones on the low beam (hid) ?
Yeah, at Pappa's they were DEFINATELY dim.
The OEM E39 kit on the 2k1+ 5 series is BRIGHT--- why can't the same be produced for the E36 on a ZKW/Hella platform?
snk328is 01-12-2003, 10:56 PM b0rf, it's probably good that you didn't take pics because of the dim DDEs. :D
Don't worry, next meet I'll make sure they aren't having any issues like I had this weekend. I really should have taken them out a long time ago to check on them. I'll definitely be keeping a close eye on them from now on. They look great now!

I like his splitter, I would like to know where he got it.
Brian
I believe thats OrientBlue3 from fanatics.
And those are most likely OEM clubsport splitters.

That's what it looks like...
His car has some badass DDE's--they are bright as hell.
Also, he has a pretty badass carbon fiber interior trim.
Too bad it's auto :(
QuestMCoupe 01-13-2003, 07:54 PM Thanks Chris. I met the guy with the blue e46, he seemed pretty cool, I dont remember his name though...he has a nice car. I didnt get to see his DDEs on though.
