I know it's not the best time to put this up for sale, but it's time for something I can get around in this weather with.....

here's my car on cars.com

Good luck on the sale.

I've seen ya around (near Costco, a couple of months ago). I had a twin to your car, albeit in much rougher shape, black interior and I was rocking the DSIIs at the time, I think.

The winter has taken from me: my front chin spoiler, my lower mesh grill, and my rear spoiler.

Damn winter. What are you going to replace the car with? X5 4.4 FTW!

You could always pick up an old cherokee or something for winter...

ya, I would love to keep it if I could afford it and a beater car....

Heck... pick up a sub $1k Honda Civic like I did and toss some snow tires on it and call it good.

My M3 is happy in the garage and my Civic is the only thing getting exposed to salt/sand/snow/etc.

query,

Is it cheaper to buy, insure, and maintain a $1000 beater with OBVIOUS questionable maintenance history, and store the M3?

or is it cheaper to run the M3, and fix things as you go?

storage insurance will run you maybe 50 for the season and a beater pick up for 500 drive for that period and then sell for same price.

Bump for a super clean car...

The maintenance history on my beater was known. I've not put anything into it but gas and oil changes. Doesn't even leak any fluids.

To me, it was cheaper than a set of wheels/snows for the M3 and I'd much rather not expose my M3 if I can avoid it. Previous owners took such good care of it, I want to continue. It's only seen one winter (previous owner) of it's entire life.

Of course I didn't switch to storage insurance (probably should have), it's just in my garage. Jan is the first month I didn't drive it at least once.

Is this Indi's old car????

if so the "never tracked" description is a bit misleading, it was tracked regularly (but not extensivelyt) by the first and second owners.

gorgeous car though

Modena interior looks brilliant inside red. I know a few people were looking for this combo on in the Bimmer Cars for Sale forum.

Is there any "wiggle" room on the price?

I don't know who Indi is, but personally I've never taken it to the track...

Ya, I'm taking offers, but somewhat flexible on price..

I might be interested and I'm local.

Does it have a sunroof delete (can't tell from the pics)?
Can you post some additional pics of the interior?

Interior looks fantastic for 84k miles. Where have you had the car serviced?

I can't tell, but is there the M3 striping on the seats? Those don't look like M3 seats...

fsmtnbiker
03-31-2007, 12:41 AM
They are sport seats (lux package) and no M striping, also because it is a Lux package.

Atrane23
03-31-2007, 01:38 AM
It does have the lux package. The only thing that I changed was the mesh grill up front (instead of the slats).

Most service I have done myself... RTABS, replaced thermostat/housing, radiator flush, replaced rear shock mounts, oil changes, water pump, replaced brake pads and rotors etc...

some service done at Boulder Autowerks.

Wow I can't beleive this hasn't sold yet! Bump for a super clean car! Just to help the sale, I have ridden in this car and the lux seats are by far 100x more comfortable than the vaders. Also with 84k miles this car is in excellent condition! I've tried to get him to go to the track with me but he never has...

its a gorgeous car, indeed, but its priced well above market...

my best friend bought a 99K-mile 95 M3 for 10K last fall, and the car was cleaner than this one with a meticulous service history.

we're looking at a 12-13K car here... TOPS.

I'm gonna have to call bs, 100k mile car nicer than this??? Was it lux edition, rare interior, and babied? I think he has a perfect starting price for the car you get. I sold my 96 M3 with 105k miles for $14200...

Plus if you look at the market for M3s in DENVER right now, there isn't many quality ones to choose from and his is set right in the average range. The next listing below his is some guy with 106k miles for $16k.

no, I am serious. I've known the car since new, its been driven, it was the first or second M3 delivered in the "chicago region" in 1994, it was purchased from its original owner by my friend. its also daytona violet (rarest color of all the E36 M3s IIRC)... interior wasn't perfect, but it was close.

if the car WASN'T overpriced, it would have sold.

It's still winter here and we just had 2 major blizzards, not many people are in the market for RWD cars right now. There is a buyer for everything and I bet he gets at lease $15900 for it. I waited 4 months (during the winter) for the right buyer to come along...

Edit: wait for the right buyer to come along who knows a value of a excellent car, not some kid who has wine taste with beer money. You get what you pay for...

I set my pricing based on autotrader.com and how many others are in this area.... Going price on there is 15 - 16K. many of which are convertables or 4 door automatics....

I personally think a daytona violet wouldn't sell as good as a helrot red M3...If it means anything I sold my 1995 alpine white M3 5-speed with 112k on it for 14.5k last March, it was a super clean car with higher miles. I think Atrane23's asking price is just right when you factor in the condition and the miles...

If you are talking about blue book :rolleyes don't get me started... C'mon guys why are you crapping on his sale? If a fellow bf.c member like you had a vehicle for sale I wouldn't go in to your thread and start dogging on the price. There is a reason for private party sales.

KLove83
04-05-2007, 07:35 PM
Yea thats what it said and i wasnt dogging on the car if I had an extra 12 grand Thats what I would offer the guy. Im not the only one who is going to look up how much its worth. 16k good luck... 12k its a better deal.

I'm not trying to dog the sale, I'm just shocked by what appear to be regional differences.

around here, you could get 12 for that, probably without much effort, 13 if you had the time.

look up e36 M3's within 100 miles of Denver.... my pricing is just about middle of the pack... I think it's priced very competitively w/ the others in the area!
