TIA ckisner 01-21-2007, 02:20 PM harbor freight has pretty good prices on auto-darkening helmets 9TimesiX 01-21-2007, 02:55 PM Be careful with that HF mask. It takes some time to darken (all auto-dark lenses do but this one takes longer) and you will get exposed to a lot of arc with the HF one. It is too slow to respond. I suggest a speedglass or something along those lines and don't trust your eyes to Harbor Freight. ebydrc 01-21-2007, 03:37 PM Be careful with that HF mask. It works great and gets dark as fast as any other one I have used. ebydrc 01-22-2007, 02:53 PM I have one from Harbor Freight and have had no problems with it. You may want to start there because they also offer a great amount of beginner advice from the desk guys... I've used Jackson helmets for decades and I can still see... Make sure to get a helmet with adjustable tint and reaction time. You can get just the screen as an insert for a regular helmet you may own. I like the larger viewport versions myself, but to each his own. |
