Zackb911 01-20-2007, 06:06 PM ya they are same with the E46 M3's (I was very temted to buy one) how has your E39 M5 been for reliabilty? That one looks very nice...
Dukes 01-20-2007, 06:10 PM Way too much red... But I'd probably still buy it.

I don't want to hex myself but mine has been flawless, never an issue. I haven't even been able to think up a bad excuse to send it in and use up my CPO warranty.

Have you used your NAV system much? Is it slow?
Mblaster 01-20-2007, 08:35 PM Wow prices are comming down on higher mile E39 M5's. I think the long term durability is still in question. Thats why prices are so soft. They can be horribly expensive is something goes bad. I expect E60 M5's to follow the same depreciation curve. So many electronics, so many things to go wrong, and when they leave the coveted warranty umbrella people fearing the maintainence start to dump the cars.
Meanwhile the E34M5's just keep going down the road.:D
Waynegro 01-20-2007, 09:22 PM I have a friend who is in the process of getting a blk on blk 00' M5 with 90K on it with a new clutch, tires, no paint work, ect for 19.5!! I was floored when he told me the price

Yea, I've used it a lot and no issues whatsoever. It is not slow at all.
kesslerbmw 01-20-2007, 10:11 PM I love how the prices are falling. Im getting very sick of always pooring parts and time into my e34's and if my new job/ promotion pays off for me, I am going to try to pick one of these up.

Assuming you find a good one you won't regret it. Awesome, smooth power and total civility when needed. Hitting the sport button, traction control and computer "o.k." button every time sucks but it's worth it... Slamming second and drifting sideways at 70 mph is a great experience.
clevertd 01-20-2007, 10:16 PM I think the M5 (E34 and E39, bleh to the E60's) is one of the very few cars that look amazing stock.

Thats what I've heard. The only other thing that would stop me is possibly the 135i 2 door that is supose to come to the states. BUt I still think I'd rather have the M5 to sit next to one of my e34's.
kesslerbmw 01-20-2007, 10:41 PM Edit, I shouldn't be looking at these things..
There is a black on black 2000 on autotrader and its 21 miles from my house:eyecrazy

4500 RPM 01-20-2007, 11:16 PM I swear I like the 2000s the best.

LeMans is hot, but not sure about the LeMans/Black extended leather interior. I'm open minded but not THAT open-minded.
scyrusurcys 01-20-2007, 11:53 PM If only I had $20K to spend on a car - THIS would be it. :(
flyeryan 01-21-2007, 02:25 AM holy crap. I can't believe people spend that much money on a new civic when they could have a few year old M5. Seriously people!!!!
Redfive 01-21-2007, 02:47 AM The best would be buying one of these cars at auction. All you need to know is a dealer who could pick one up for you and then you could get the CPO (in some cases) and spend less than 20.
I'll take mine in blue, even though that red one would match my E34.

Because some people care about gas/maintenance/insurance costs and have no desire to drive a stiffly sprung, manual car on a daily basis.
