Take a look:

If you notice, the trim is black everywhere except the rear bumper, where it is black with the chrome strip on top. Is this normal? It's a '99 540i6.

Doesn't look normal. Mine is a 2000 and it has no chrome on the strip.

Please correct me if I'm wrong...the trim around the windows means it had some of sport upgrade...not lke a total 540/6 speed sport..but some sort of other trim upgrade...I saw this a few days ago...

Any ideas?

non-chrome on the trim and around the doors means it's shadowline (standard on sport models). i'm guessing your car got tapped in the rear and the previous owner just replaced it with the easier to find chrome trim.

www.realoem.com (http://www.realoem.com) for correct part number- that trim should be all black like mine

Does the shadowline trim directly interchange with the chrome?

The rear bumper is the only chrome trim on the car. The rest of the molding and all of the windows are black.

So in this diagram, I need #2 and both sides of #4, specified for shadowline. It looks like #3 and #5 are the chrome trim - is that correct?
