View Full Version : Got my M-Systems back from the refinisher!
4500 RPM 01-19-2007, 09:45 PM I'm only $1300 into this project and don't even have tires! :confused
But they look great. They're in Atlanta and in in Indiana, but they're staying tight. I love the look.
The lips are machine-finished and clearcoated. Debating about getting centercaps or not. Shit, I can't even afford tires so...:rofl

clevertd 01-19-2007, 10:25 PM Got any before pictures? Love those wheels.
Gunslinger 01-19-2007, 11:00 PM Nice.
Definitely start looking for covers - turbines if you want to up the originality factor.
atl530i 01-19-2007, 11:03 PM Very nice.
Slip Edit 01-19-2007, 11:05 PM Nice!
Type 32's or those FTW.
Ace_of_Spades 01-19-2007, 11:35 PM Siiiiiiick rims
Mblaster 01-19-2007, 11:52 PM Just get roundel center caps and mount some tires.
I like the look.:D
AndrewH 01-20-2007, 01:32 AM Look good, but I would have done it myself and saved the money.
540i6Mike 01-20-2007, 02:22 AM ///Mmmmmmmm, nice.
4500 RPM 01-20-2007, 02:30 AM Thanks for the positive feedback guys...
I did start to do them myself, but majorly screwed up by removing the factory primer, at least halfway. I turned a four-day DIY job into a clusterfuck, so I sent 'em to a pro.
I'm glad I went with machine-finished...I like the polished look, but this is different.
I have turbine covers that need refinishing, but I just can't see my stock 525i with them on. So off they are.
I'm going to run them naked, as is, for a few years or so until I get tired of the look, then I'll get throwing star covers. I've got other stuff on my mod list, so the covers aren't a priority.
I think Alpine will be sick with the black centers...
NikosX 01-20-2007, 05:12 AM Denton. They look gorgeous. Mine are going in to the refinisher now you bastard!!!!
s_ribs 01-20-2007, 11:39 AM I like those wheels a lot... on everyone else's car. :)
:shifty
:lol I just realized that probably came off wrong. What I MEANT to say, is that I wouldn't put them on mine. Not that they will look good on every car but yours. Ha ha!!
Grim Reaper 01-20-2007, 01:36 PM Those look sweet. Mount some killer meats on them and your Alpine is set.
4500 RPM 01-20-2007, 03:54 PM Those look sweet. Mount some killer meats on them and your Alpine is set.
Thanks man.
Was thinking 235/45-17 but want to explore my options. They aren't staggared, which I'm glad they're not. Understeer FTL.
e34werkz 01-20-2007, 03:55 PM Wow, they look brand new. They should look great on your e34.
dmalo810 01-20-2007, 06:13 PM Denton,
Who did the work, they look great!
tfritz 01-20-2007, 06:30 PM wow! i would get the turbine covers refinished in a dark silver or grey and put them on! i for one love the classic bmw look
Mblaster 01-20-2007, 06:52 PM wow! i would get the turbine covers refinished in a dark silver or grey and put them on! i for one love the classic bmw look
I've seen the turbines finished in dark grey with machined lips. Very nice look
4500 RPM 01-20-2007, 06:56 PM Denton,
Who did the work, they look great!
Thanks!
Metro Wheels in Marietta (ATL suburb) did the work. My brother said there are one or two minuscule bubbles, that have to be pointed out for you to see them. Doesn't bother me, wheel refinishing isn't easy and I can't wait to see them in person.
About the turbine covers, I think they're ugly but can appreciate their functionality. In a year or so I may have throwing star covers, possibly in a VERY dark graphite (or maybe a dark gold :devillook ). Time will tell.
Hell, if I see a pic of those dark Turbine covers on an AlpinIII car I may be swayed...
Thanks guys!
