My car's heater takes a good while (8mins) to get hot even if I drive it from a cold start. The temp gauge will be in the middle after about 5 mins which I read is standard but the a/c-Heating will still be cold. But my real concern besides taking forever to get warm is that even after it gets warm when I'm driving; when I idle at a stop light or in a parking lot waiting on someone I notice that the air comming out drops in temp. even if I have it turned up to 90 F. As soon as I start to drive around again it resumes putting out hot heat.

I have a 2001 540i 6speed Sport/Lux package..Anyone experience this and have any remedies?
