My 2004 M3 vert is going into the garage to have some parts of the vanos system replaced.

Do you think the garage would service the vehicle as a goodwill offer if I asked them? It is due an Insp1 in about 4k miles, and I assume they will have to perform most of the same tasks of a service as part of the repairs, like new oil etc?

I have only had the car 3 weeks so i thought i might get some goodwill out of them?

Anyone got any thoughts on my chances?

Good Luck! I had mine in for a power window regulator that was covered under the CPO warranty. I picked it up at closing and tested the window. Yeah, it worked, but it made a high pitched sound and was rubbing tight against the rubber strip. I called them. They said they would take care of it on my next visit. Well, the next visit rooled around. They tried to charge me the $50 deductible. I said that they never fixed it right the first time and reminded him of our previous conversation. He kept going on and on about about how they had to replace a part, so I had to pay. I was like, man, if you want to make this a pissing contest, that is fine with me, I've been doing nothing but drinking your coffee in the lobby all morning. Dude talked to his manager. Came back out with his lower lip hanging down and said Joe (his real name) said not to charge me.

I HATE my local dealer. I took my Z3 in for a tire. I told all the people there that I would come back in the van or the 325 to pick up the old tire (Just got it- previous owner had one of the larger tires for the back on the front. I kept it since it had about 2000 miles on it.) Anyway, I see some young punk come flying from around the shop, taking a speed bump like he's in an SUV. To make it worse, the old tire was in the passenger seat and the new tire had some type of goo on it that looked like he had just masterbated on it.

Find a good independent that can work on your car for anything not covered under warranty.
