i started getting a bit of a whine from the rear end.. maybe not the diff, but definately in the rear of the car..

it fluctuates with speed, meaning the slower i'm going, the lower the whine.. faster, the whine gets higher..

it does it both in and out of gear, brakes both on and off... it is independent of the engine, and most likely trans..



any ideas?

time for a new LSD?

Could be the diff, or the wheel bearings. If it's worse when you turn one way and not as bad when you turn the other way, then I would suspect wheel bearings, but could still be the diff.

Well does the whine change when you let the gas pedal go and accelerate? If such stuff happens then it's the diff..My diff is whining so i'm sure about this :)
