how do you guys like your SMG tranny compared to the 6speed unit and are the SMG units known to fail requiring the purchase of a new hydraulic pump?

if so about how much is the pump and labor rate to have this repaired and does it happen often ?

Correct me if I'm wrong...but don't all E46 M3s have the SMGII?

I'm a MT kind of guy myself...so far...but who knows...

yes, all E46's are SMG II. SMG III is in the E60 M5 and possibly other newer Mcars
