Resolution: Dropped car at dealer today. They called and said they hooked it up to a device and it didn't communicate with the radio despite good power and grounds.
There is apparently a bulletin out on this very issue (navi equipped radio non-responsive), but it only calls for replacement upon customer complaint. They will replace the radio.
Soooo, if anyone has a radio that doesn't function, have your dealer check it out and tell them to look for bulletins concerning the radio. Tell them not to pull the fuse to check it, as if the fuse is good the radio will then work and they'll send you on your way. :)

Ok so this happened again today. Car is a late 03 model.
I get in and start the car, navi comes up hunkydory, but radio doesn't come on. All the buttons on the radio side aren't responding. I can eject the CD, and reinsert it ok, but still no FM/AM/CD...
The last 2x it happened, I pulled fuse 41 (or was it 40?) and it was not blown, so I reinserted it and the radio came to life.
Today, I decided to swing by the dealership and show them the dead radio, so that in case it came back on at the end of today they'd at least have seen it in its dead state before I bring it in.
Any ideas?
I'll see what they say tomorrow. I'm dropping it off in the AM.
