i used to live where dogs got hit EVERY DAY... if the dog is in the road, then thereis nothing anyone can do but try and stop if its safe to do so. if someone is to put there life in danger to keep from hitting a dog, then they are retarded. peta can jump on my ass all they want, but a persons life is more important then a dogs. its a damn good thing he didnt drive into a ditch or siomething trying to dodge the dog

That said, throwing it in the woods is pretty cold and heartless. If someone ran over one of my Poms I'd rather they come to my door and tell me. Beats finding the dog squashed in the street. Not that that would ever happen, since my dogs are under my control at all times.

we used to have dogs that would get out of our fence and gethit all the time. most of the time the people werent even nice enough to move them out of the road, they just kept going. i think him moving it was nicer than leaving it in the road to get squashed some more

I found this link right after it posted. I'm not sure why I posted it here for everyone to read but...it seemed arrogant, and distasteful to just throw a dog in the woods like he was trying to hide it.

.....I came across a fresh hit last year on textile road. So fresh the steam was still rising from the black lab. His inners ripped open, I turned back...I had too. Call me a pussy. It was struck twice again before I could pull the dog to the side out of the way. I was crushed. I pulled the collar and called owner.
a lady answered and said her husband would be right over...she asked me if (forget the name now) was being friendly and how I caught him. I had to explain the dog was dead, she hung up on me.
10 minutes later a NFL look alike showed up....and immediately fell to his knees.
He ended being the O-Line coach at Eastern - one big dude. He stated the dog had been out for a few hours, which later pissed me off because they weren't even looking for the dog yet.
It ruined my night, but I felt I did the right thing....

How the HELL does a kid like that, who values getting wasted with his buddies, over the life of an animal, someone's beloved pet, actually get to earn enough money to drive a car, nevermind an E38. And if it's his parents car, how the HELL did the people who are succesful enough to buy an E38, get to that stage in their lives? Anyone who would raise a kid like that, should not procreate.

SERIOUSLY!!! I agree that the owner did make a poor decision throwing the bat... I would have grabbed a gun. Not so much for the fact that he hit my dog, but for the fact that he threw it in the woods. That is just disrespectful to the owner AND the dog. If I hit someone's dog, I would be devistated. But I wouldn't run away, the owner reserves the right to know.

And Al, it is those who attain their wealth through exploitation that end up with cars and children as such. Lack of common decency and manners. Not to mention common sense.
