I want to go with my girl somewhere for one day, Somewhere no longer then 4 hours away from NY. We are both 20. I need some suggestions, I would like something like skiing, or something fun to do for a while in the morning/noon then some kind of room to spend the rest of the day and maybe some good food in the same room etc etc. Please be serious, It won't be anything fancy since I'm not a millionaire but I just want to have fun and do something nice and get away before I get back to school. I've never been skiing neither has she.

Ok, I don't know where else to ask, This is bimmer related since we will either drive my 325i or her 325i.

Let me know.

Where are you located in NY?

With all the warm weather, I'd imagine that any mountains that are less than 4 hours away are in poor shape and probably not worth the drive for the man-made stuff.

I'd recommend the casinos up in CT (mohegan, foxwoods), but since youre both under 21, that's out.. unless you guys look older than you actually are :)

Maybe a B&B on block island (http://www.boston.com/travel/explorene/rhodeisland/articles/2004/02/13/on_block_island_a_chance_to_chill_out/)?

Since you guys are on a budget, check out http://www.site59.com for last minute deals.

Philly or DC; there's lots to do in both places that can be done fairly cheap. Don't try skiing; there's no snow. I'd suggest this place (http://www.mohonk.com), but it's probably too expensive.

I would only suggest going to Boston if you were planning on starting a massive fire or some form of mass destruction.

I say take her to Scores.

i thought so too, but then found this..

http://www.foxwoods.com/Aboutus/CustomerService/CustomerService.aspx

"What is the legal gambling age in your casino?
The legal age to play Table Games, Slots, Racebook and Keno is 21. The legal age to play Bingo is 18."

Take her to a zoo. Most girls love the zoo and think the animals are so cute. It's a quiet place to walk around and spend the day together. Just make sure that she's not one of those girls who hates zoos because it's unfair to animals.

All nice, especially Bear Mtn. You could try one of the lakeside lodges where they can deliver a pizza to. :) Quite inexpensive as well.

There's also Cape May (4 hrs. drive.) The ocean (which probably won't mean much in this cold), and some really nice B&B's.

If you come up my way there is Hunter Mountain and Windham Mountain for skiing. Hunter i believe as something like 50 trails open believe it or not, and i actually run an ice arena in the same area. you have to get off at my exit to get to the mountain. exit 20 on the thruway, not sure where your coming from

That six flags sucks... if you make a trip up here to go to that Six flags, you need your head examined :stickoutt (plus I doubt they are open)

Check out Jiminy Peak for skiing, its in the Birkshires (in Mass) its a tourist area there should stuff to do there, and its a smaller mtn, it wont cost you an arm and a leg. I've never been, but alot of ppl recommend it if you dont want to go to Vermont. Its an hour south of albany, so its gotta be within 2 hrs of the city.

I have gone to Bear Mtn and taken a walk in the woods and had lunch, I know Sundays they have the brunch at the Bear Mtn Inn. I would also think about a hike on the Appalachian trail if you like the woods.

Go to NYC see a museum,
Bronx Zoo did have the holiday lights going on.
<st1:place><st1:PlaceName>Hershey</st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceType>Park</st1:PlaceType></st1:place> is about 2.5 hours one way from <st1:place><st1:City>North</st1:City> <st1:State>NJ</st1:State></st1:place> lower NY state.

You should rent a hotel room in nyc for a weekend and go out to dinner, see a broadway play and walk around like tourists :)
