A little video of my weekend at the streets of Willow running with TCRA.

That Cayman driver was either new, or he was getting used to his new car. The civic was majorly riced out. It looked cool though. Here a link to better pics of the civic:

^The 330ti was never built anywhere, his was done by Rouge Engineering. Great vid, my ride in your car at the Cardiff meet last summer left me with a lot of good ideas :)

Thanks for the compliments on the sound. the RE (Rogue) exhaust can be loud on the street, but it sure sounds good on the track. And as windandsea mentioned, there was never an official 330ti, although the factory did build one for kicks and there are quite a few customer converted 6 cylinder ti's nowadays.

so, you had this done? Any hints of pricing?

Personally, I did not have this done. I bought the car already converted, but as far as conversion prices, a ball park figure would be $7-10K, depending on motor, tranny, etc. To do it right, it's not cheap.

actually not all that bad. the DASC is only about half the price.. but you get so much more power out of the six.

tempting.

Are you talking about Ben's. He bought it that way. That was actually his 2nd. The first was when he was with UUC.

^Chris.

Actually, Steven is talking about Ben Liaw of the former partnership between himself and Rob Levenson, aka UUC. Ben now owns Rogue Engineering, a similar company of BMW aftermarket parts.

I, Chris, bought Ben's car from him a few years back, with the 330ti already transplanted. In fact, Ben bought the 330ti from Al Boessert, who had the motorswap done by Turner Motorsports of Amesbury, Mass.

Nice run clex! an s50 swapped ti can really eat up the track! The Cayman driver must have been surprised to see a ti pull on him in the straight.

Excellent video! Man that was a tight track! Your car sounds fantastic. What kind of tires were you running? Didn't seem to have any traction issues. Great camera angle too. Where did you have it mounted? I'm so glad you overtook that ricer before the video ended. Any plans to S/C the s50?

I was running nearly bald Bridgstone Potenza S-03's 225/45-17 and 245/40-17's. I could swing the tail out pretty easily on any of the tight 2nd gear turns if I wanted to, but otherwise, grip was pretty good. Consider that the civic was on R-compound tires. There might have been a little push at higher speeds. I am considering going to 235's up front, likely the new Bridgstone RE-050A PP's. I have heard good things about them, esp for a street car. The camera was mounted with a CruiseCam that mounts to the passenger seat head rest posts.

A twin screw supercharger would make this car almost too fast, and besides, I like NA motors for the sound and resonse. For now, the engine stays.

At least you got a point by, Man, I've never seen so much runoff in my life. I'm used to armco, fences or concrete with styrofoam.

Runoff is nearly infinite and featureless in the middle of the California desert. I do miss the terain if the east coast tracks, like Limerock.

Very nice, it sounded wonderful. That civic was pretty fast, kinda makes you think what you could do to one of those with the money youve put in the ti. Of course in the end you still have a civic, thats what makes the ti worth it.

I'll give the guy in the Civic some cred. He was drivin his arse off! But I don't think it was so much that it was fast, more so I think it's because of the traffic that it took a few laps to catch up. I'm sure that your ti will give anyone a run for their money. It's almost like it was designed specifically for that track. The best part is that they can here you coming. Very nice driving BTW.
