Anybody know a good voodoo chant for getting the bolts off the diff input flange?!? I just spent half an hour wrenching, beating, and insulting them to no avail. Somebody really kung fu-ed them babies on there. UGH!

UberNoob 01-14-2007, 11:56 PM raise the front of the car, leave it in gear, set the parking brake, have a buddy stand on the brake pedal, leave the rear wheels touching the ground, stick the right size closed end wrench onto the bolt and lay on your back, use your foot to break each bolt loose. e21enthusiast 01-15-2007, 01:12 AM a full can of carb cleaner and some hemanwomanhater arms BMWBum 01-15-2007, 01:49 AM Whew! So after a buttload of PB Blaster, more insults, a left foot, and my wife telling me I'm a wuss, they finally gave way. I was hoping to get the rear subframe out this evening, but I think the old E21 beat me into submission for tonight! (Note to self - the driveshaft comes out much easier if you take the downpipe ALL the way off instead of just getting it off the hangers.) |
