Mine was just SQUEEELING so I removed it. It is a Sofica. Sprayed the motor out with some Mass Airflow Sensor cleaner and then put some PB Blaster on each end where either bearings or bushings are. No noticeable endplay and the device rotated a LOT nicer when I was done.

Question: How long will the "fix" last? Surely someone has tried this route prior to myself?

I tried it, After a while the air from your heater will smell like your lubricant, then it will sqeal again. It lasted a few months I guess.

I used assembly lube on mine. I bought Redline assy lube when I rebuilt my engine and barely used any, so Im looking for things to use it on :stickoutt It doesnt smell at all. I've tried silicone spray also. That smelled and lasted the rest of the winter, but the next year I tried the lube. Use a long screw driver to get it by the bushings.
