As you may or may not know, I recently had my tranny replaced under warranty for the 5th gear gate problem. My dealership in Harlingen is a complete POS (don't even let me get started on that), so I drove the 600 miles RT to get the car fixed there. Well, the day after picking it up (after I made it back to Harlingen), I realized that I had a broken foglight.

The lens was shattered. I didn't notice it before dropping it off at the dealer and I sure as hell wasn't going to drive all the way back to show them a foglight. I just talked to the dealer and they said that they'd send me a new one for free, totally taken on my word that they MAY have blown it out. I doubt I did since I never follow closely behind anyone, but.. I truly appreciate the good service shown my a dealer..

Cool. Sorry about the extended drive, but I reckon Harlingen ain't a hot spot for bimmer owners.

Anyway, don't hesitate to use Rhine West in SA for work. They are an awesome indy shop.

You're absolutely right Jeff, on both counts. With the complaints I've had to BMW NA about my local dealer, their allocation of cars is only supposed to go down. Personally, I don't understand how they can sell BMWs, but not have a service department that's open more than 5 hours/day, has more than 1 tech, and doesn't work after noon on Friday.. Anyhow, Rhine West is great. I've had some work done there before and wouldn't hesitate to use them again. As soon as the factory warranty is up (another 1k), I'll be taking my money to them for sure. Take care Jeff..
