Does anybody have XM radio in their E90,1,2? What receiver are you using and how is it set up?

I have a portable receiver in my current E46. It has a stick-on mounting bracket that due to the curved surfaces on the dash I could never find a good place to put it. It also has a bracket to mount on a vent but that lasted about two days. So now it sit in a cup holder with the antenna wire coming up from under the passenger seat.

I have a 335i coupe coming and am looking for a better solution even if it means buying a new receiver but I want to keep the factory stereo in the dash. Any ideas?

I did not order the Sirius because I thought BMW's price was to expensive, I have more than a year already paid for on XM and I like the XM content.

Installed a XM Rodie from my last car, mounted on the right front of the center consul. Still able to open the ash tray and access and visability is good.

What type of bracket did you use? Did it come with the Rodie? Is it the stick-on type?

Thanks for your help.

Is it XM or is it Sirius? While I know that XM can be installed, Sirius is the only BMW installed option. :shifty

Theoretically, one can use the Sirius wiring/antenna with the BMW head unit and get XM by wiring in an internal XM receiver. It's been on XM forums some, but the required black box is, I think, not out yet.

Used the stick on swivel bracket that came with the Rodi and some new 3M 2x tape. Easy to get on and off if necessary.

I prefer the Sirius reciever, its hidden and never thought about. You can get one from Circle Bmw for 425, the bracket for 21. That includes a year service. It takes a matter of minutes to install and plugs into the factory harness. I know you can get an XM reciever for under 100, but add in a year service and your looking at 300. Extra 150 you get a super clean install that noone will ever know you have.

Thanks! I will have to eyeball it once I pick up the 335i.
