I will not be able to come back to ASU for a second year unless I have two semesters of the same foreign language competed by then. As of now I have none and I am not registering for a class this semester. This means I will have to complete both over the summer.

Foreign language is very hard for me. I've tried 4 times and 3 different languages. I failed every class. It has been proven that I have a learning disability in that area but ASU is holding firm...have two semester completed by Fall of 03 or you don't return.

In all honesty I could probably pass the two semesters over the summer with lots and lots of help, but this would seriously effect my business plans, house hunt, and job hours. I also hoped to spend a few weeks in Cali with my favorite cousins (who will be flying in from FL)

To be blunt, I just can't afford to have my whole summer tainted by this god damn requirement.

Here is my question. Does anyone know any teachers at community colleges that may take a pay off? I'm damn serious about this fellas. I am willing to pay a teacher to pass me along with a C so I can complete my foreign language requirement. I understand this is shady and highly immoral but please put yourself in my shoes before you flame me. I have a learning disability in the area but ASU will not excuse me from the requirement. I've tried 4 times and failed. I have lots to do this summer and don't want to spend every waking hour studying for a class I won't need.

I've tried Spanish, French, and Sign Language. It ain't happening guys. I guess you could argue it would be beneficial to my and my future business endeavors to know Spanish but it is not worth the cost.

Please PM me if you have any leads as this is a public forum.

If I can't figure out something I'm just gonna have to go to Community College for year two and hope ASU will re-except me for my final two years so I can get my business degree. This isn't THAT bad, but I would prefer to just remain at ASU.

I can relate to this dilema to a certain extent. I have had some trouble with German 102.
What you need to do is put school ahead of all your other priorities. Forget about business or house hunting for now. School should be number 1 priority because it will affect you for the rest of your life whereas this summer's business and house will not. I hate to sound like your dad but this is reality. Who cares if you have to take a year at a CC, in the end it will pay off.

As far as paying off your teacher, I strongly would advise against it. You could risk being expelled and never having the option to graduate. If you bust your ass and work hard at it you will get much more from it. If you have trouble you will want to meet with your teacher during regular office hours so they see that you are putting forth the effort.

I am willing to put school at the #1 spot for the majority of the year as long as I can make some money and have some fun in the summers. I really don't want one course to ruin that. Especially a course I shouldn't even be taking. I'd never pay off or attempt to pay off a teacher at ASU, but if I can pay off a teacher at a community college I'd jump on it. The credit would transfer and I would be set. If shit hit the fan (slim possibility if I find a good teacher) I highly doubt ASU would find out since it didn't happen on their turf.

Feel me?

I'm not trying to buy my way through college, I just want to take care of some highly important things this summer. I'm currently working on some really cool inventions that could set me up for life. I gotta stay on top of those too.

I understand where you're coming from, but I'm afraid I have to agree with Antonio. Summers are awesome and a very important time of the year, especially for students. However, spending a couple months in summer school is really a small price to pay.

From what I understand, if you can't find a teacher to bribe and you can't pass the course, you go to community college. And you're actually going to take that as acceptable? Come on man, spanish is practically a no brainer for me. I'd be more than willing to help. So would a lot of people.

You must think I suck now because I sound like a father. The funny thing is is that I'm younger than you. :astromile :laugh

Just my $0.02.

I agree with everyone to a certain extent.
With the way mortgage rates are right now, If you are in fact house hunting, I would spend a day determining your minimum requirements for a house, determine the area, and put a realtor to work as your buyer's agent. You don't pay them, the seller does.

Determine which language you think you have the best chance with, and do your damndest to accomplish it. Find a capable student to tutor you. (or...)

Bending a teacher is difficult. Their job is on the line. If you are serious about corrupt means, pay a capable student to attend enough to pass and to take your tests for you.

Good luck!

Nothing wrong with Community College.

Look at it this way. If there is such a difficulty learning at your current place, what good is it? I know that in my classes i have 35 people tops, and the teachers are always there to help!

My $.02, if you need any help give me a hollar.

This thread is really outrageous. Paying a teacher to pass you? Would you want a doctor working on your or someone close to you that cheated on something? Hell no. There is a reason why they say college is not for everyone. You could look at this as an example of that possibly.
