i have to say this is one of the cleanest finishes i have seen after replace a HU with an aftermarket one... i replaced mine (98' 328i - HK system) with the Blaupunkt Bahama MP46 - it is deff IMO a very good HU, and some of the venders here have even recommended it... i am extremely pleased with it and the way it sounds and looks... just wanted to share that!

now... i was thinking of replacing the factory amp... what are some good replacements? money is an issue and i dont need top of the line, but i obviously dont want crap either (hints why im asking, audio isn't really my thing)... so whats the best bang for the buck for an amp? the cheaper the better...

and if i get an amp, is it better to run new 2way components in the front? or just upgrade the mis with BSW and run it like that? (that was what i was planing on doing)... and maybe some 6X9's in the rear for lil extra bass...

You dont want to replace the factory amp and leave the factory speakers. Most on this board will tell you to get a nice set of front separates (5.25 or 6.5 + 1" tweeter) and disconnect the rears for a upfront sound stage. If you dont have a sub you might want to put a set of 6x9's in the rear though. Its up to you. A decent amp will start at ~$200 and a good set of fronts around the same. I had a set of old MBQ Premiums ($500 new) and a JL 300/2 ($400 new). Check out BSW's speaker and amp packages though...

I just installed mine too. I think it looks great, even when the unit is off.
