When I open my door, I have to lift the interior handle once to unlock, and a second time to open the door. How do I change to a single pull?

I do not think you can, All BMW's (Maybe even all German cars) are this way.

That should only happen when the doors are locked. Isn't the car locking the doors automatically when you drive at more than x Km/H? :P

With the car stopped, try this:
- enter the car and open the door from the inside. You should need to pull the handle once
- enter the car and lock the door. now you need to pull it twice.

i am guessing it's a safety feature on BMWs. i think its programmed into ur key. check with the $tealer. my car has it...doesn't bother me though.

FWIW - My '02 MB C230 does not require 2 full pulls of the interior handle to open the door. There is however a detant at the middle of the pull that unlocks the door, so if you stop there and release the handle all you've done is unlocked the door. If you pull all the way out on the handle in one motion while door is locked, it will open the door.

It is in the maual.. you can do it on the stick or on the Idrive whichever you have. No problem.

With iDrive you can program this so that if you don't want the doors to lock automatically when you get in the car and start driving, you won't have the "double pump"

If pulling the handle twice is such a pain, maybe you should just crawl out the window.

Why are we reading this?

His title was pretty clear, it appears IMO that you chose to read the thread anyway, so why then complain??
