Looking for a quality individual or audio shop who's familiar with these audio systems. I just picked up my 2000 540i (non-DSP) and I *think* I have a few blown speakers and I'd like to leave the headunit as close to stock as possible and redo the wiring / speakers / power supplies, etc....
I'd like to run some BA or Polk Components and also address some rattling in my door cards, etc.... just wondering if there were any board members who wouldn't mind spending a day w/ some beers... or if there was a quality shop in the area that won't rip me off.
Any suggestions? I'm in Medford, MA (Boston Area).

FWIW... I used to install audio systems myself way back when... and don't really have the time to spend more than a day or so on my car, so I figured I'd either enlist some help (kinda guy who knows what he's doing blindfolded on these cars) or just let a shop do it.
But, since I used to do this stuff all the time... well, I know what it's all about and think it's pretty insane what some audio shops are charging these days.
I'm gonna toss a DICE iPod adapter in as well....
Advice is, appreciated :-)

Sound in Motion has done some nice installs on BMWs before. I know they've done some nice X5s over on X5world. www.sound-in-motion.com

Sweet! I don't really *need* a sound shop... I'm pretty sure I'm going to do the BSW Stage 1 Speaker Replacement. Also I have a 10" JL w/ Amp I may toss in... nothing uber fancy, just want to get a decent (well by my standards, which probably translates into very clear) sounding stereo.....
Gotta save fundage for, what else? More Power :-D

Thanks! Burlington isn't far at all....
Does anyone have any feedback on the BSW Stage 1 Upgrade?
I'm debating that or going w/ individual replacements....
Let me know :-D
Rich's Car Tunes in Watertown.
Pricey but I think their work is pretty good. They did the initial install in my M Coupe and as far as the audio system the install was great. They may have taken advantage of my ignorance with pricing and choice of components, but that was my own fault. Also they aren't good about seat codes so be prepared to get the SRS and associated lights reset.
