Got accepted into Denver Sturm College of Law today....it's my first choice which means I should be there come August...barring anything major (like a full ride from another law school).

I need some help before I make a preliminary flight out there with my mom to figure out certain things (like housing).

I know UD is right next to Cherry Hills, but how far away from LoDo is the school exactly and is the commute bad? My folks are actually throwing around the idea of buying an investment property in Cherry Hills to sit on while I am going to school there (and for me to take care of :buttrock)

So talk to me folks!.....'cause I'm about to be moving there :evil2

Congrats on getting accepted UD is a great school. If I where you I would look at living in Cherry Creek area over Cherry Hills. I am anti Cherry Hills though because I grew up there.

Is LoDo far from UD campus?

How nice is the Littleton area?

Lodo is about 25min from DU, it really depends on Traffic though which can be pretty bad at times. Littleton is alright, I would probably rather live there over Highlands Ranch. I might be of more help if I new more specifically what you are looking for as far as housing goes. (Shameless plug) My Mother is a local Real Estate agent if you are looking for one.

No, when I come over there, I'll give your mom a call if we need help, it'll be nice to have some help since we don't know the area well.

Also, I'm looking for a townhouse or loft with 2br and a 2 car or covered/garage parking is a must.

I appreciate the help. Thanks :)

You have some options than. It really just comes down to what you want to spend and if you want to rent or buy.

I grew up around the DU area - both my parents went to school there many moons ago.

They would buy. Right now I think my options are sitting around the $250-400k range (assuming my folks want to sell my condo here in Philly).

Those townhomes in LoDo are pretty awesome, but geebus they are pricey...

Does your mom have a business card or website for easy reference? :)

Chris, when you drive out... you WILL stop in Lincoln and let me buy you dinner.

It simply must happen.

but KC isn't the most direct route, I-80 is by far the fastest way to get west in good time.

either way, just keep us in the loop

Not coming from DC/MD area, I-70 is. Check out a map!

I'd still take I-80 its a short jaunt north and sooooo much faster. especially since you can average about 90 in Nebraska and colorado (I-76 SW to denver)

It's basically the same either way (Lincoln loop or KC loop) give or take an hour or so...I figure I'll be making this trip at least twice within the next year so my first trip will take me the via Lincoln loop :)

Congrats!
Lodo is pretty trendy which is why the prices are so high. as far as cherry hills goes you're missing a zero on your price range. I hear the new denver art museum residences are pretty nice and maybe in your price range.
Here's a link to some of the trendier places. A few are towards the higher end of your price range.

sounds great Chris, just give me enough lead time to clear my schedule and arrange the proper welcome wagon...

if you want decent food, its most likely gonna be steak. I'll leave BBQ to the KC peeps.
