Heres the deal....

Last night I was driving my girlfriend home. She was kinda late so I was trying to hurry. We turned onto a long 4 lane street. Speed limit is 45mph. I was in the left lane and passed a cop doing about 75-80mph. As soon as I passed I saw him hang a huge u-turn in my rear view mirror without turning on his lights. I immediately turned off into a big shopping plaza. I parked and proceeded to turn off my lights and car. I then told my girlfriend to get out and walk into dunkin dounuts with me. As we got out of the car the cop circled my car once or twice. Never turned on his lights or even tried talking to me. Once we got out of dunkin dounuts about 5 mins later he was gone.

Has anybody ever heard of getting mailed speeding tickets?

No kidding. You're trying to avoid a cop, and you go into a place that sells donuts? What were you thinking?! :confused

haha matt, they can mail the summonse to your house withen 30 days. He got 30 days until the violation of speeding is consider'd invalid. Hopefully you don't get that ticket, but if he wants to be a dick, he will do it. Also, You shoulda have gotten rid of the tre series bimmer, the cop woulda showed respect instead of pitty for a mazda :(

thats why its good to have a gold sheild in your windsheild and have a father that is a bountyhunter. Those 2 things always come in handy (plus the many of FOP, PBA, and medical badges I got.)

:rofl If he wants to be a REAL dick he'll wait as long as he can to send you the ticket till like the 26 or 27th day so by the time you get it, you can't fight it or do shit about it. Good luck man, hopefully you don't get anything.

Similar thing happened to a friend a while back. Pulled over for following to closely and the cop got a call to go to another location. Cop said to expect a ticket in the mail. Said ticket never arrived.

i dont think they can give u a ticket for speeding if they didnt pull u over. u cant assume the owner of the vehicle was driving the car. anybody could be driving the car.

The reason he didn't give you ticket because his Rador never caught you. He must not have been postion to see you until you passed him. Don't stress it even if you do get ticket it wouldn't carry any points...

How would the cop have known who was driving the car? If there is such a thing as speeding ticket via mail, it couldn't be anything more than a fine without points...same as a parking ticket.

Worse comes to worse, it would just be a summons, your insurance can not go up since he didn't issue you the ticket. But I doubt they would send you a ticket, I once ran from a State Trooper and I'm pretty sure he got my plates, but I never got a violation..

I got pulled over by a State Trooper that was driving in an undercover Dodge Durango for cutting some lady off (this biotch cut me off 3 times, and I had it with driving behind her). I didn't say anything to him when he started talking to me...he told me I would get a ticket in the mail ( I think he was off duty and on his way home...I work in Trenton and the State Police Headquarters are a few miles up the road from my building)...I never got a ticket in the mail...

I don't think there's a such thing. First, anyone could have been driving your car. Second, unlike a red light violation, there is no picture of you actually speeding with your plate number, what if the actual speeder went straight and you were in the parking lot with the same make model and color car. It won't happen.
