Hey guys,

Just had a backfire in the intake manifold in freezing weather, leaving me stranded before going to work. Now car won't idle or gets stuck at 2000 rpms. Suspect the sensor plate is either not centered or zeroed causing binding. If it doesn't get stuck at 2000 it chugs and dies. Any thoughts?

Sounds like you popped a hose off causing a vacume leak.

I would also check the vacuum lines on the manifold.

Got her fixed. Yup, didn't have a flashlight at first in dark garage and missed one of the two brass nipples. Found the plug on the ground and runs like it should. Thanks for the insight that led me back to basics.
