Hey all,
I consider myself a decent shade tree wrencher in general, but am a bit of a noob when it comes to BMW's. I've been able to change the fluids (oil, diff, tranny) on my M3, but would appreciate guidance and a hand performing other maintenance / modifications / installations. Also, would like to learn more about my M3 from my peers in the region.

I'm going to take a stab here, but I dont think I'm the only one on this forum that feels this way. And, I'm very certain that the talent pool we have here in the metro nyc area is quite vast.

So.. with that said, would it be feasible to have a tech day / local meet when it gets a little warmer?

Thanks and happy new year!

I didn't know much about cars or repairs until I got my bimmer and got hands on. Get a good manual and get the right tools. They're a lot of special tools for bimmers and sometimes it's worth getting'em.
I'm a member of BMW CCA in New York and went to a couple of their Tech sessions, which I thought were pretty informative. Not sure when the next one is.

I think that would be a pretty good idea. We could probably assemble at a park or something along those lines...

The NY Chapter BMW CCA will be hosting their annual "beach party" in February. There will be a safety equipment and mechanical tech discussion, as well. See link below for more details.

sweet! I'll be at the beach party and i'll try to head on over to MSR. Perhaps during the summer after we complete our driveway, I'll host a small bbq/tech day.

Things I need done? Well.. could use some guidance on replacing my power steering hoses and doing the fan delete mod.

Also would love to meet with others who are more knowledgeable about my e36 M3 just to shoot the shit with and learn the quirks and innards of my car.

you'd never learn how to fix anything if you don't break anything... :D

I'm going to try and make it a semi-official BMWCCA event. I'll need an E46 and an E36 for the event.

Figure a Sunday Afternoon.
