My '97 528 has the usual radio. About a year ago the pixels or LEDs or whatever they are started to randomly disappear. Some work and some don't. The problem is much worse now but the radio and everything else still work fine, I just have to guess if it is 1:00 or 1:28 on the clock and the stations are often a mystery.

Has anyone had their's fixed with this problem? My repair guy wants a ton of money to send it out somewhere.

Do a search on here and there are a few threads about BMW actually helping you with the cost of it. And all you have to do is pay like 2/3 of the labor and they get the part out to you cheap.
