Did you guys run your battery cable under the car or elsewhere when you caged your E30? I am about to do this and it seems like the battery cable gets in the way at the rear shock tower as well as the bottom of the main hoop. Many thanks in advance.

they just moved mine a little aside at the main hoop.

my rear bars dont go to the shock towers so no issues there

We just moved the wire to the bottom of the shock tower and had no issues.

This might change from year to year but this car does have the main batt cable running from the battery alongside the bottom of the fender exactly where we will be putting the mounting plate for the rear down tubes. I was thinking about either running it over and around the fender well in the trunk or running it under the car. Has anybody done the main batt cable under the car?

too much exposure to catching on something.

why not just around the cage?

You also want to make sure your cable is inboard of the b pillar tube (main hoop).

actually, inside the car I am going to run the cable inside the "framing" for the bottom of the doors and b pillar. it should be tidy and o/o the way.

If this is for track duty you do not want to run your cable there. A side impact can cause the cable to be pinched between the two pieces of steel causing fire, short, exploding battery, etc.
