Does anybody know any towing companies that will tow from bridgewater to morristown for cheap? I'm getting my clutch done in morristown and thanks to a bad slave cylinder i can't drive it there. Any ideas as to what prices I'm looking at? thanks

If you have AAA you can just call them and say the car broke down......then you got yourself a free tow. Ive done it before (not with this car). What shop in Morristown are you bringing it too?

Basic AAA membership offers 3 miles free and $3 a mile after that. Advanced membership give you like 100 or 150 miles. A little known fact is that you are only permitted 4 service calls per member per calendar year.
I use Whitehouse Auto Serivce in Whitehouse Station, NJ for my towing needs in the Somerset/Hunterdon County areas. They are a AAA towing provider and I originally got hooked up with them via AAA. They haven't screwed any of my cars up yet. I've never had them take me to Morristown but I've gone from Edison to Bridgewater to Flemington.

Thanks for the help guys. I'm actually going to Open Road in Morristown as I know a mechanic there that is willing to help me with the work. When using the Whitehouse Auto Service what were the rates like?

Well, I'm a basic AAA member so it was $3 a mile.... I'm not sure what the rate is for non members.

if you have a truck then rent the uhaul trailer for $50. other wise you gonna have to pay and it is usually $75 hook up and $3-$4 per mile.
on a side not if the clutch engages meaning if you were to start the car in first it lunges forward, you can drive it clutchless. since you are replacing things anyway you can't hurt it.

I learned this my first few months with a 20 year old British car, which was my only car at the time. Quite the surprise. :)

Im more worried about the slave cylinder than the clutch as the clutch would hold up enough to get me there. The slave cylinder died and shot its pin into my bell housing. I'm getting a new slave cylinder tomorrow but i'm just afraid to move the car much with a metal rod in the bell housing.

You can actually call your insurance company and say you broke down also. Most insurance companies offer towing as part of the package.
