I find that at a given speed on the highway, I feel like I'm going slower than in my previous car which was an '03 Accord. To compare my speedo to another car, I kept an eye out for the 06/07 Civic which has a huge digital read-out that can easily be read while driving next to it. The Civic indicated 90 km/h and mine was reading approx. 97 or 98 km/h. I wonder if it can be due to the winter tires. Originals are Continental Procontact SSR in 225/45/17 and winters are Dunlop wintersport 225/45/17. What are the chances the tires, although the same size can actually have a different circumference?

Can't be the tires since the size and ratio are the same.

Do you have or know someone with a handheld GPS? That can show speed realtime.

Try taking it in for a speedometer calibration?
They do that for legal reasons too (re: speeding tickets)

I doubt the tires are materially different. Man...that's something if you can read the car's speedo next to you at 90 km/h. Anyway, I'm not sure how accurate the old needle speedo's are. You can always try to test it through a speed trap and then ask the officer for an official reading....LOL LOL
