So the other day I hit a treacherous deep pothole at about 45 mph. There was no avoiding it in high traffic. Anyway, I have since noticed that the front right wheel ( the tire that took the hit) has been making a sqeaking noise EVERY time it hits a bump. Not often, but sometimes it will repeat the squeak noise 3 or 4 times in a row in equal time intervals.

The noise comes from my front right wheel EVERY time I hit a bump on that side. I also noticed sometimes when I am slowing down I hear a slight rattle from the same wheel. It almost sounds like something has come loose as if a washer is shaking around a loose bolt ( i doubt that is the case, that would be too simple). This rattle is the most nerve racking of the pothole noises.

But my 99' 328i (63K miles)runs perfect besides that, but that DAMN pothole has seemed to bring noise problems from the affected wheel. The noise is almost inaudible with the windows up, but I am nervous to drive not knowing how serious this noise is.

If you cant tell I am not a "DoItYourself" type car owner, so please any advice on:

-What the noise is ( or possibilities)?
-How serious it is?
-Am I causing damage by driving with the noise?
-Anybody else heard these type of noises going over bumps?
-Reccomendations for what I should do????????

The noises could be from anything in the suspension. Since you aren't a "DoItYourself" tpe car owner. have the suspension inspected by an experienced BMW tech.

I'm guessing it messed up your strut.

oh dude... that's messed up. your front suspension is screwed... don't even drive it. just park it, tape the keys to the windshield and tell me where you left it. oh, and don't forget to leave your title in the glovebox.

just kidding... seriously though, it could be many things that potentially got damaged. the only way to see what's wrong is do an inspection of the suspension from underneath. if you're not up to that, like jim said, get a recommendation for a good independent mechanic in your area and take your car there..

definitely go to a good shop THAT YOU KNOW. you are in a position that could be exploited by people who give honest techs a bad name. There could and probably is more than one part that needs replacment. The suspension is designed to give under extreme conditions rather than mess up mounting pionts. I just replace al 4 lower contral arms on my friends 330xi because he hit a curb, or two. You may want to get an alignment which is cheaper than a new set of tires let alone a new set and the needed alignment.
