I have a 1990 750il and I am trying to find the best placement for a rear facing child seat. The problem I am having is the middle seatbelt is inertia activated. So it will not tighten until you hit something or slam on brakes. If I buckle the child seat in and make a turn under normal driving conditions then it will tip over. Does anyone know of a replacement belt or another fix? I have already checked for any factory mounting points and can't find any. I also called my local BMW dealer and received no help what so ever. I do not have the owners manual. I do have the factory video that came with the car but it does not make any reference to child seats. Off subject I also have the original window sticker and complete maintenance records up to date. Thanks for any help in advance.

as far as the middle belt goes i can't help you, as we've always placed our child seat on one side or the other (and now that we have two, on both sides :))

but i'll take a look at my owner's manual next time i have an opportunity and let you know if it says anything that might help you
