Good times....

I've been a sushi fanatic lately. I'm having it tonight as part of my bday celebrations. Should be a good day. Slept in, going to Ju Jitsu at 12, then watching the Chiefs at a friends(they better fucking win), probably getting a new gun, then sushi at Jun's at 8, then out after that. Can't complain!

Ted, where have you gone besides WA? Is Sushi house on 23rd any good? I've found quite a few good places up here. Anytime you want to get some fish lemme know, I'm game.

Happy Birthday!

I've been to Wa, Kokoro (on 6th Street near Kasold) and Sushi Station on 23rd. So far I enjoyed the sushi at Sushi Station the most, but they're all pretty good.

Thanks, but its not til monday. :D Gotta do my partaaaying on the weekends. I'm suprised to hear that you liked SS the most, especially over Wa. I've never been, but it always looked a lil cheap on the outside to me... Good to know, I'll have to come back to town and try it!

I agree that its appearance is the least appealing of the three. I just ate there again today for lunch and the sushi was excellent. Highly recommended.

WA > SS > KOKORO > the place behind the ford dealership the bait and bimmers meet was held at.

Sushi station was good when it opened, went out busness, then was reopened and not as good.

Wa is probably the best place to eat sushi around Lawrence and KC area. Sushi station went through different management, I used to work for the old owners.
Cafe Beautiful in downtown Lawrence has awesome sushi but its a very reserved place and its only chef's menu.
I've been to a few places in Joco area and they dont compare imo.

Hi guys. Jeez, I should have visited the regional forums earlier. Anyway, where is Wa located here? As well as cafe Beautiful? Was born in this town and make it downtown every so often but can't recall seeing either of these places? I've been eating sushi for years and it's tough to beat coastal stuff, but there are a couple of good places here. The wife is now turned onto unagi big time. We like Sushi Station, but Wa and C.B. sound interesting.

We ate at Stix in the Legend's and she thinks she got food poisoning from them. Anyway, thanks for the information.....

Wa is 740 Massachusetts. Cafe Beautiful is 728 1/2 Mass. I found the addresses here: http://www.lawrence.com/restaurants/search/

Start easy and you'll learn to love it. Salmon(smoked or raw) is very easy to start on. Yellowtail, toro, a lot of it is very easy to eat and not fishy at all. We'll get ya goin. I started the same way.

It was great, though crittias was apparently just too cool to stick around and hang out on the roof of a parking garage for an hour like the rest of us :buttrock

Sorry for being gone a bit, work has been a little hectic of late.

Anyone up for another sushi night? I'm thinking Tuesday, March 6th at Yokohama's (formerly Sushi Station) in Lawrence.

Let me know who wants to attend.

Gentlebitches: I will be a bit late. I have to meet a client to pick up some signed papers and am doing that between 6 and 6:15 right off of 35 up here. I'd imagine I'll be there about 6:45ish. I'll throw on my gray ///M hat and be pimping the silver vibe :D See you there!

Sushi tonight was awesome. Thanks to everyone that attended. For April, let's try to find a KC location so that we can get more people to attend.

P.S. Theodore: Technically, Audra and I didn't "know," we merely suspected. Thanks for clarifying. :)

Man, we totally should've done a Mass Ave tour! With the Vibe in the lead, we'd have been da shiznit.

I've actually found sushi to be damn good! Though i could barely get to it through the swarm of women that the vibe attracted.
