my light went out and it turned out that it blew and te bulb housing meten on the ight and it coudnt come out by conventional methods bmw will replace it but they say that light wire travels allthe way to the front of the car and they have to change the whole wire I bought a new bulb housing from a mechaninc who had a bunch ob beams in his shop and spliced the wire
also some times himidity and an old light can create bit of oxidation btween contact points an ultra fine metal sanding papaer did the trick in times of need

it's wired such the wing's light lights up, but the 3rd brake light *in the car* does not light up.

I just want to de-wing my car.

bmw will fix that for you.. all the do is replace the 20 foot wire that travels under you upholstry$$$$$from the fron t of the car to the end.
i found a good bulb housing and spliced the wire. but oxidation is common between the contact points and sanding the inside of the blb housing cleaned it right up and the bulb touches the metal contact inside .
worked for me..

that was way back during the RMBMWCCA HPDE in September or October:) I think you wanted to make it, but you didn't!

I will be at the MR2 meet tomorrow with a friend, and my own M3 (in winter mode, a la sans front bumper spoiler, left brake duct, and lower middle grill. Stupid winter.)
